The Pearl of Asia is 600 carats and is said to have been found in the Persian Gulf in the early 17th century. It has the dimensions of 76 x50 x 28 mm which is the largest known nacreous natural pearl in the world.
After the siege of Delhi it was put in the hands of the King of Persia who then handed it off to the Chinese Emperor Qianlong. It is believed to give happiness and good fortune to the Chinese.

The pearl is egg-shaped which is different from many typical pearl shapes. It is white and has a silver tint which has been well preserved. This indicates that the pearl must be very thick. It is currently covered with fruit-like gemstones and golden branches. The gems consist of jade and purple quartz.
The Pearl of Asia has made appearances in special museum exhibits, most recently at the Harry Winston Gallery of the Janet Annenberg Hooker Hall of Geology, Gems and Minerals, of the Smithsonian Institution in 2005.
