Grune Gewolbe Pearls

In Dresden, Germany, there is a collection of baroque pearls in Zwinger Palace which are part of the treasures of the royal family of Saxony. They are kept in the Grune Gewolbe or the Green Vault. Some of these pieces date back to the eighteenth century.

Green Vault

Among these treasures there are statues of figures that are lavishly decorated with pearls and other precious gems. One figure is of a dwarf, whose body is made of a baroque pearl and green enamel. The figure also contains a few diamonds in various places of his body.

Zwinger Palace

Many of these pieces are abundantly covered in numerous colors, contain a large amount of detail and also have plenty of pearls and gems. This baroque style was very popular at the time they were crafted.
