Summer is the most popular time to get married. So in honor of “wedding season,” we’d like to offer a few “pearls of wisdom” for all of the new blushing brides.

Some of these pearls are sentimental, others are sweet, some are serious and others are just a little silly. But each contains that wonderful “pearl” that any bride or couple can take away for a happy marriage and relationship.

Wearing pearls on one’s wedding day is a classic choice and we think offering these “pearls of wisdom” mirrors that choice. How many brides gently touch their fingers to their grandmother’s pearls on their wedding day, making this day even more special and romantic? Pearls are the sea’s natural gemstones. While they do need gentle care, if cared for properly they can last a very long time. You too one day can pass on your pearls to your daughter or granddaughter for her wedding day. A touching thought indeed.

Congratulations to all of the wonderful brides! Here are some “pearls of wisdom!”:

  • "A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you can control it." – John Steinbeck
  • "A man in love is incomplete until he has married. Then he’s finished." – Zsa Zsa Gabor
  • "A psychiatrist asks a lot of expensive questions your wife asks for nothing." – Joey Adams
  • "A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person." – Mignon McLaughlin
  • "A good marriage would be between a blind wife and a deaf husband." – Michel de Montaigne
  • "A wedding is just like a funeral except that you get to smell your own flowers." – Grace Hansen
  • "A wedding anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year." – Paul Sweeney
