Kenneth and Carol Wunschel went clamming on Sunday, July 18th and were treated to a lovely surprise. According to projo.com, the couple dug for a bucket of clams, bought some lobsters and headed home to enjoy their seafood.
Carol Wunschel put the littleneck clams on the grill so the couple could enjoy them while the lobsters were still cooking. Carol ate one and discovered something inside -- a pearl! She didn’t know what it was at first, but her husband Ken knew right away that it was a pearl.
Mrs. Wunschel has clammed since she was a little girl of 6 years old. The Wunschels got married on August 3, 1983 and she taught her husband how to clam. The very first time they clammed, her husband lost his wedding ring.
The pearl Mrs. Wunschel found is a teardrop shape and has a lovely lustre to it. Her husband wants to have it made into a pendant for her.
