Accessorizing is the Key to Growing Up

Accessorizing is the Key to Growing Up

Growing up should be an exciting time for everyone.  You get more privileges and responsibility and become more independent.  Boys get to say goodbye to their toy cars and upgrade to the real thing while girls can get rid of their clip-on plastic earrings and purchase authentic ones.  There is always something new no matter what age you are turning.

Girls especially have a lot to look forward to while growing up.  Many girls look at their mothers with envy, waiting for the day when they can dress up, put on makeup and wear high heels.  However, when it is time for these little girls to grow up, there is one last step that separates the girls from the women, accessorizing.

string of pearlsFrom handbags to pearls, accessories can make or break an outfit.  If a girl thinks she is ready to take on the “dressing to impress” role, she needs to know how to accessorize and what goes with a particular outfit and atmosphere.  For instance, a girl who is transitioning from being a college student to a member of the working world needs to know that a big flashy belt that she may have worn in school is no longer acceptable.  What will make this girl a “woman” are certain accessories such as a simple, thin belt or a classy string of pearls.  These particular items will make any work outfit complete.

Shoes are also an important part of completing an outfit.  Most girls think that heels are the only way to make an outfit look classy, however flats are acceptable and comfortable too!  With a black and white outfit, flats with sequence or jewels are a nice touch.  If you decide that heels are the way to go, try picking out a vivid color to add to a black and white outfit.  Whichever way you choose, they will both help transition your style from “girl” to “woman.”

Pearls are a great accessory for any outfit.  Pearl earrings can make an everyday outfit look sophisticated and a pearl necklace can complete a bridal or an evening gown.  Whatever the occasion may be, accessorizing with a pearl is never a bad choice.

So if you think that you are ready to make the transition from girl to woman, make sure you have all the right accessories first!
