When most people think about pearls, the first thing that comes to mind are pearl necklaces or earrings. They have been most commonly associated with celebrities who have made a statment that pearls in fashion is something that is here to stay. However many people have become bored with the traditional design. This has lead fashion designers to come up with unconventional designs that have made a profound impact on many people.

One of the biggest changes of pearls in fashion is the change in color. Most people thinkof white when thinking about pearl jewelry. The fact is that there are a lot of pearls which come in different colors. There are pearls which are black and pink and some freshwater pearls that are creamy white. These have recently gained a lot of attraction due to the fact that they are not only beautiful but also affordable.

Shapes of pearls are generally round and that is the thought that most people have in their mind when thinking about a pearl. The round shape of the pearl is what makes it costly. People fail to notice that there are pearls available that are of different shapes. Some are crafted while some are available naturally. The ones available naturally are cheaper and people tend to buy those as these pearls make a statement of uniqueness and style.

One can easily say that unconventional pearls have made it to the top of the sales list in the pearl market. Moreover traditional pearls are still very popular in the market but due to affordability many people have switched to the unconventional style.
