Everyone remembers the classic Jacqueline Kennedy in the White House next to Jack with her pearls and soft spoken charm. A recent book remembers Mrs. Kennedy Onassis’ years as a book editor. She worked as a book editor for nearly twenty years. According to the book it was a very pleasant and happy period in her life.
As ever, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was stylish, graceful and so fashionable with her pearls and large sunglasses – remaining a true fashion icon.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis worked on many books, including Michael Jackson’s autobiography ‘Moonwalk’, and Carly Simon’s children’s books. She also worked on books with Bill Moyers and many other notable people.
Two books are coming out this month about Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis as a book editor. ‘Reading Jackie: Her Autobiography in Books” by William Kuhn and published by Nan A. Talese and “Jackie as Editor: The Literary Life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis” by Greg Lawrence, published by Thomas Dunne Books/ St. Martin’s Press.
Both books are a wonderful opportunity to see Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and how much she enjoyed being a book editor. Just how passionate she was about working on the books that she loved, working with writers and in the publishing industry. That she remained the graceful, sophisticated fashion icon wearing her pearls with the classic, unique fashion style everyone remembers – and that she accomplished so much as a book editor.
