Mother and Daughter Pearl Fashions for Spring and Summer

It’s a fact that little girls dream of growing up to look just like their beautiful mothers. And often they grow to look so much like their mothers, there is an uncanny resemblance! It is not always a case of simple genes but often these style and beauty tips that mothers pass along to their daughters. Including how to wear beautiful pearls.

Introducing your daughter to pearls is a lovely idea. Most girls are ready to wear jewelry when they reach the tween years (10 to 12) and do well with pearl jewelry. Pearl jewelry is especially ideal for special events like holidays and birthdays. But it can also be worn for daytime use, depending on the style of the pearl jewelry.

A fun pearl jewelry style is to wear similar or matching mother and daughter pearl jewelry. There are many styles of pearl jewelry to choose from but we’ll share some of our favorites with you. Whether the two of you are together or are apart, this is a special way to celebrate your close connection and relationship. Your daughter will always think of you as she wears her pearl jewelry. And you’ll instantly think of your daughter as you put on your pearl jewelry also.

Some of our favorite mother and daughter pearl jewelry styles include:

Pearl earrings. Pearl “button” earrings are a great choice, especially for tween or teenage girls. This style can be worn for daytime or evening. A pair of pearl drop earrings is both romantic and sweet and especially suited for evening but often can be worn during the day. Pearl earrings featuring gold or other metals or other gemstones can also be a great choice for your teen.

Pearl bracelet. A pearl bracelet is a lovely choice for you and your daughter. It’s a very feminine look for every woman and girl. The pearl bracelet draws attention to one’s wrists and arms. Some pearl bracelets are tied with a bow and these can be ideal for evening. Others have traditional clasps and are best for daytime wear.

Pearl princess length necklace. This is an ideal choice for many mothers and daughters. This length is a very classic style for most to wear. Especially for holidays and special occasions. The princess length pearl necklace will just touch your collarbone. This length will look attractive with dresses, blouses and sweaters.

Remember when giving your daughter pearl jewelry, you’ll need to give her care instructions. Taking good care of pearl jewelry insures it will last a long time, and perhaps she can pass down this strand of pearls or piece of pearl jewelry to her very own daughter.

Always put your pearl jewelry on after applying makeup or hair care products and before taking them off. The fine particles will catch in your pearls, causing damage.

Have pearls restrung regularly. Ask your jeweler for advice; a good rule of thumb is once every year.

Keep pearl jewelry in a secure place and away from other jewelry so it won’t get scratched. Putting your jewelry away every time after use avoids losing it.
