Taking care of every detail when preparing
for your wedding is a necessity. One question a lot of young brides ask
themselves when planning their jewelry selection is what type of jewel or gem to choose. The answer is very easy. Every lady knows her preferences and what fits
her better than anyone else. One thing is for sure –Akoya pearls are more
precious and considered to be more luxurious than most. Unlike crystals, you
don't find them everywhere.
If you choose Akoya pearls, you need to know some basic information about them. They are “cultivated” in Akoya conchs, mostly in Japan and China. They are mostly famous for their spectacular brightness and are considered to be classic pearls. Generally, they are white or colored in light cream, pink or silver.
The manufacturers and sellers have adopted an interesting grading system that categorizes the Akoya pearls according to their quality, brightness and shape. The A/A1 type is the lowest commercial quality you can find on the market. They don't have a particular shape, they have fine lines, cracks, stains and other small imperfections. The A+ category has less than 15 percent of imperfections and has a clear brightness. If you look at one of these pearls, you should see your reflection in its surface. The shape is generally round. The AA pearls provide only 10 percent of imperfections and your reflection should also include background items. They must be perfectly round and if you buy a set, they must have the same shape.
Last, but not least, the AAA Akoya pearls are part of the superior category. The nacre is thick and should have a gentle transparent surface. The brightness, as well as the shape, must almost reach perfection.
With all this information while doing the proper research, you shouldn't worry about your decision when you go shopping for the most important day of your life. The Akoya pearls have always been in style and can easily fit a wedding dress.
