Pearl Removed After 41 Years

A man in Athens, Georgia with bronchitis visited the emergency room with symptoms and came home with a bit of a surprise: a pearl! According to FoxNews.com, the 46 year old Calvin Wright had a pearl in his ear for 41 years they removed it that day. He was unaware there had been a pearl in his ear this entire time.

Wright explained that he and his sister played with their mom’s pearl necklace when he was 5 years old and the lovely pearl necklace broke. Wright’s sister stuck 2 of the pearls into his ear. This was very uncomfortable and his mom took him to the hospital. The doctor explained he had removed the pearls. Wright hasn’t thought much about that childhood play experience since.

He does think the pearl being removed has helped him to hear better. Wright stated that “everybody” would ask him to lower his voice. But now he doesn’t speak as loud as he used to and he can hear himself much better.

This is a very unexpected place to find a pearl! We are glad Wright is feeling better and now he can enjoy the pearl as a piece of jewelry. Wear beautiful pearls and enjoy them as jewelry.
