Anyone who
has seen the popular NBC television show The Apprentice knows the host
and creator Donald Trump and his well-known phrase “You’re Hired!”
uttered at the end of the series to one lucky contestant. The others
will hear “You’re Fired!” by Trump until only two contestants stand to
go through the final rounds.
According to NBCNewYork.com, approximately 500 New Yorkers came out to attend the casting call for the latest series of The Apprentice. In today’s economy, a dream job holds even more allure for many.
One hopeful candidate arrived dressed very much for the part of a successful business woman wearing a business suit and pearls. Actress and model Annalisa Delcane stood on line, hoping for a chance at the job that includes perks such as a six-figure salary and working for Donald Trump’s empire. The Apprentice has been successful every season it has aired, even inspiring the celebrity version of The Apprentice featuring popular celebrities.
Dressing for the job you want can make a positive impression on anyone in the position to hire. A business suit and pearls are an ideal choice for a woman to wear on that so-important first business interview.
There are some suggestions we suggest, especially when choosing pearls to wear in a business setting. Jewelry in a business setting can make a positive impression and lend others to remember you. But it is important to select the best pearls and type of pearl jewelry ideal for you in order to make the impression you hope for.
Remember that pearls come in many sizes, shapes and colors. Use this to your advantage. Many women choose a conservatively cut black, grey or dark navy business suit. You don’t have to simply select a princess length of white or ivory pearls to compliment this look. For a business setting, you’ll want to maintain a serious tone with your pearl jewelry. Avoid pearl jewelry that looks “too” feminine or as if you would wear it for evening. An excellent choice can be very large and deep colored pearls for a pearl choker. Or even tiny seed pearls in a soft pastel shade. Look for pearls that compliment your business suit, hair, eyes and bone structure.
Many women love pearls as they can have a very romantic look. But pearls can also look quite elegant and subdued, perfect for that first job interview or important business meeting. The luster and radiance of pearls will make your skin glow ever so slightly. Use this to your advantage, knowing it compliments you and draws attention to you. Choose pearl earrings to suit the pearl necklace you select and wear a hairstyle that lets your ears be shown well.
When choosing pearl jewelry for business functions, keep in mind your corporate culture. A conservative business like a bank may have a different environment than a more contemporary fashion company. Then again, every company, no matter their industry has their own individual personality and tone. Do your best to research their corporate culture and you’ll get a sense of what style will be appreciated most there. Some will nod favorably at your more dramatic pearl jewelry looks like a rope pearl jewelry necklace. Others may prefer to see you in something “dramatic” that is actually quite subtle like drop pearl earrings with dainty pearls.
