Lion and Pearl Centerpiece Steals the Show at Chanel Fashion Show in Paris France

A statuesque gold lion with a pearl in its mouth was the showcase piece for a Chanel fashion show in Paris, France. According to Yahoo! News, Karl Lagerfeld is known for stunning Chanel fashion shows and this summer’s show certainly was.

Lagerfeld stated to AFP that the gold lion with the pearl was inspired by a small bronze lion from Coco Chanel’s apartment. Lagerfeld’s lion is elegant and friendly and shimmers with a gold sheen. It delicately holds the large pearl under it's front paw. Coco Chanel loved pearls so not only did the lion have a pearl under it's paw – but the models appeared onto the runway from a pearl which opened just like an oyster. The summer 2010 fashion show featured not only a love for pearls but also the fashions for Chanel’s ready for autumn and winter. The charming and stylish Chanel fashions featured faux fur.
