America’s oldest and finest jeweler, Shreve, Crump & Low,
began their story in 1796. A workshop
was opened by a watchmaker, John McFarlane across the street from Paul
Revere. This shop continued to grow and expand and in 1869 the name Shreve, Crump & Low was created.
Not long after in 1872, the Great Boston Fire
destroyed the entire store, however Shreve’s was rebuilt and was well known
among high society Boston including, the Kennedys. Today there are two locations, one in Boston and the other in Nantucket, MA.
A few major pieces were commissioned for Shreve, Crump & Low to design. These included a famous Harvard tennis award known as the Davis Cup in 1899 and the famous Cy Young award created in 1908.
In 2007, David Walker bought Shreve, Crump & Low and because of his passion and understanding for the fine jewelry industry, he has maintained the prestige and elegance that Shreve, Crump & Low has always been known for.
