The Louisiana Tech head football coach Sonny Dykes and his wife Kate
have created a unique event: the Pigskins and Pearls Women’s Football
Clinic and Luncheon. No longer will women be in the dark about the “in’s
and out’s” of a football game.
The very first event will be held on July 29th at the Square Creek Country Club and it benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Louisiana. According to nwlanews.com, the luncheon event will teach the basics of football and women will have the opportunity to meet both coaches and players.
Mrs. Dykes admits to nwlanews.com that the luncheon is a way for women to learn football and that she does hope that they will then come to the football games with their husbands. The luncheon teaches about football but is focused on the Louisiana Tech football team her husband coaches. Coach Dykes thinks the luncheon will make football a lot more fun for women.
Ladies attending the luncheon will receive the football lecture, a luncheon and a hat and t-shirt. The lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. The event costs $40 a person.
We think of course the only way to attend this Pigskins and Pearls luncheon is to wear your favorite pearls! Whether wearing a pearl necklace, pair of pearl earrings or a combination of pearl jewelry – an event such as this truly calls for your favorite pearl jewelry. Try some of these popular combinations:
Wear pearl earrings. Whether pearls with gemstones and precious metals, “button” pearl earrings or pearl drop earrings, your pearl earrings will accentuate your lovely face.
Add a pearl necklace. Try wearing seed pearls in vibrant colors of pale pastel shades or bolder and brighter colors. Or wear a rope necklace of pearls and loop it several times to create your own custom choker style necklace.
Wear an ultra feminine pearl bracelet. Pearl bracelets are especially ideal for summer fashions that show your arms and hands more. A bit of a tan that shows radiant skin easily compliments the pearls’ lovely luster.
Enjoy Pigskin and Pearls, an event certainly helping a good cause – and enjoy your lovely pearls!
