They say it is the “season of giving” – and Oprah Winfrey is well known for her generous giving. So no one was surprised to see her give her Sydney, Australia television audience on December 14th a lovely $600 pearl necklace for each audience member.
According to ABC.net, the beautiful pearl necklaces were gifted by Alex Kailis, the MG Kailis group managing director. The pearls come from the Kimberley coast.
Mr. Kailis believes that Oprah Winfrey’s recent visit will be “great” for tourism. How wonderful for Oprah Winfrey to visit Sydney, Australia and to give everyone beautiful pearl necklaces! We can only imagine the television studio audience giving these pearl necklaces as Christmas gifts to that someone special or simply treating themselves to wearing it. Every time they wear this pearl necklace they will remember the fun of Oprah Winfrey’s visit and the surprise of the gift of pearls they received.

The most exciting thing about the gift of these pearl necklaces is that these are Australian pearls that have been given to the Sydney, Australian television audience for the Oprah Winfrey television show. Mr. Kailis stated that this was a great opportunity to show everyone how beautiful and wonderful Australian pearls are. We couldn’t agree more – and just how beautiful and wonderful those Australian pearls certainly are!
You too can be like Oprah Winfrey…and give pearls as a surprise gift this holiday season! Here are some of our favorite gifts to surprise someone you love with pearls:
Find a good hiding place for the pearl necklace or jewelry. Remember that pearls need to be kept in a (not too) cool and dry place. They also need to be kept in a soft cloth, it is best to keep them wrapped up.
Part of the fun of giving a surprise gift is dropping a few hints. Let the someone special in your life know they are a real “pearl” or as lovely as a “pearl.” They will smile when they realize later you were giving them a few hints they couldn’t pick up.
Create a treasure hunt or good hiding place. A popular way to give someone a special gift at Christmas is to hide it hanging in the Christmas tree. While we think this is great, remember that pearls are delicate – don’t let them get scratched by pointy pine needles. Put them in a small gift bag to hang from the tree and let someone find them or have a treasure hunt through the house to find the special pearl jewelry gift.
Enjoy being as generous and giving as Oprah, giving pearls for the holidays!
