If
you are in the Seattle, Washington area you’ll want to visit ‘Jewels’ a
fashion & art exhibit at Amber. The inspiration for both fashion and art come directly from beautiful precious gems such as Pearls, Ruby, Sapphire and Jade. The event was held on May 4th at 8 p.m. and began with the stunning paintings shown first. Next the gowns were shown, worn by the very same women who modeled for the paintings shown at this special event.
We know this was a unique event Seattle residents and visitors simply wouldn’t want to miss. Not only was it a wonderful pearl and gem inspired event, but it also ticket prices benefited the Susan G. Komen Puget Sound Affiliate. Twenty percent of the purchase of a painting by portrait artist Ethan Jack Harrington or couture fashions by Cameron Levin would also benefit this wonderful breast cancer charity. How thoughtful and creative for a special event to help women fighting breast cancer – all while having a wonderful time enjoying beautiful pearl and gem inspired fashions and art.
Attending an art show is a unique experience. Every woman wants to look her best. While we know Jewels has passed us by, the summer season for special events is just beginning. There are many lovely events ahead of us. This is an ideal opportunity to wear your favorite pearls and also to try new pearl fashions and styles. Here are some of our top pearl fashion tips for special events such as art shows, cocktail parties or that fun evening out:
Compliment your pearl jewelry to the theme of the evening. Some events are bold and others are more subtle. Often you can tell a great deal about a special event by the design and style of the invitation. When in question, ask your host/hostess for guidance. “What will you be wearing?” is a gentle way to ask for suggestions.
Evening is one of the best times to show off your favorite pearls. But you’ll want to make sure they are in tip-top shape before putting them on. Think: when did you have your pearl necklace restrung? If you can’t remember then it may have been too long. Most jewelers advise getting pearl necklaces and other pearl jewelry restrung once a year. Ask your local jeweler for specific advice regarding your exact pearl jewelry, as each piece of pearl jewelry has its own needs.
Try wearing your hair either back and/or up to easily draw attention to your pearl jewelry. A French twist, romantic bun or windswept hair in a gathered look means everyone will notice your lovely neck, shoulders and earrings – and also your pearl necklace and earrings especially. Top tip: put on a touch of self-tanning lotion a few days before the event so you have a bit of a healthy glow. It’s spring and we’re entering the summer months. Your slightly tanned look will look glamorous and elegant, especially against your radiant pearls
