Jewelry Designers and Stars Create Ornaments to Benefit St. Jude’s Charity

Posted: December 02, 2010

Everyone knows that Christmas is a magical time of year. Several celebrity jewelry designers and stars have created their own Christmas ornaments to benefit St. Jude’s, a children’s hospital. The ornaments are to be sold this holiday season on HSN. HSN has previously raised $3 million for St. Jude’s. HSN is excited to do the Christmas ornaments for the children’s hospital and to help children in need. 100% percent of the profits are donated to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

The special Christmas project includes Christmas ornaments from designers and stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Iman, Padma Lakshmi, Molly Sims and Marlo Thomas. The collection is complete this year with 75 beautiful ornaments.

Marlo Thomas has created 2 ornaments. One with children and a snowman and the other with a charming teddy bear. When asked about her Christmas memories, Thomas shared that her father Danny Thomas would put up one of the largest Christmas displays in Beverly Hills. Today Thomas and her husband Phil Donahue believe in grand scale decorating for Christmas. Their Christmas tree reaches to 11 feet in the stairwell of their Connecticut home and can hold many ornaments.

Iman, model and television host created an ornament of a lovely diva who resembles Iman wearing a Santa suit next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Even Iman’s dog Max can be found on this beautiful Christmas ornament. Iman credits her 10 year old daughter Lexi with creating their beautiful Christmas tree each year.

Carlos Falchi, an accessories designer created a stunning teardrop shaped ornament in red frosted glass complete with rhinestones, glitter and topped with a huge bow. So festive! Falchi grew up in Brazil and at Christmastime always dreamed of snow (there is no snow in Brazil).

Jewelry designer and actress Molly Sims created a lovely gold ball with colored crystals and pearlized stones and a stunning gold tassel. Sims admitted that in her 37 years she had always looked forward to new ornaments every Christmas and was looking forward to hanging this special one on her Christmas tree.
