These oysters or mussels then secrete a substance called “nacre” which bonds to the irritant, creating layers that form a beautiful pearl.
These necklaces are made completely from exotic South Sea pearls and are all double strung and knotted with silk thread and 18kt gold clasps. South Sea pearls are treasured by women worldwide. They are among the most expensive of pearls with high prices for the finest of specimens.
